The SVSM
Recycled Yarn
Advantage
At SVSM, we believe the future of textiles is circular. Our recycled yarn division transforms pre- and post-consumer textile waste into valuable resources, offering a truly sustainable alternative to conventional spinning.
Our key differentiator lies in our zero-dyeing process. Equipped with cutting-edge open-end spinning machinery, we expertly sort and blend recycled fibers by colour. This innovative method ensures rich, consistent yarn shades without consuming a single drop of water for dyeing, drastically lowering environmental impact.

Recycled Yarn Manufacturer in India — SVSM Group, Tirupur
SVSM Group is one of India's leading GRS-certified recycled yarn manufacturers, operating from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, the heart of India's textile industry. We transform pre-consumer and post-consumer textile waste into high-quality, pre-dyed recycled yarn through a zero-dyeing, zero-chemical process.
Our recycled yarn is available in counts from Ne 2s to Ne 40s, the widest count range in India and in 75+ colour shades without using a single litre of water for dyeing. Trusted by sustainable fashion brands and textile manufacturers across India and internationally, SVSM recycled yarn delivers both environmental responsibility and commercial value.

The Process
The pre-consumer waste (clipping scraps or rag waste) and post-consumer waste (textile waste) are segregated based on color and composition. The segregated waste is then mechanically recycled and shredded to produce colored regenerated fiber. This regenerated fiber is blended with recycled polyester fiber made from PET bottles at the desired blending ratio. The blended fiber is then spun into colored recycled yarn, also referred to as pre-dyed yarn. These recycled yarns are economically priced to meet the growing demand for colored yarn in the fast fashion industry.

How SVSM Manufactures Recycled Yarn Our 5-Step Process

1. Waste Collection and Colour Sorting
We source pre-consumer textile waste (cutting scraps, fabric leftovers from garment factories) and post-consumer textile waste (used garments, discarded fabrics). All waste is carefully segregated by colour and fibre composition before processing begins. Colour-sorting at this stage is the key to achieving consistent yarn shades without dyeing.
3. Fibre Blending
The regenerated cotton fibre is blended with recycled polyester fibre (made from post-consumer PET bottles) at precise ratios — typically 60:40 or 80:20 (cotton:polyester) for knitting and woven applications respectively. Custom blend ratios are available on request. Blending improves yarn strength, durability, and consistency.
5. Quality Control and Certification
Every production lot undergoes rigorous quality checks including count consistency, blend ratio verification, tensile strength testing, and Banned Amines testing. Transaction Certificates (TCs) are issued for every batch, enabling full traceability from waste source to finished yarn. GRS certification is maintained throughout the supply chain.
2. Mechanical Recycling and Shredding
4. Yarn Spinning
The blended fibre is spun into yarn using open-end (rotor) spinning technology. SVSM produces recycled yarn in a full count range from Ne 2s to Ne 40s — including Ne 34s and Ne 40s, counts in which SVSM is the only manufacturer in India. The result is a consistent, pre-dyed, recycled yarn ready for knitting or weaving.

Frequently Asked Questions
Recycled cotton yarn is produced by collecting pre-consumer textile waste (fabric cuttings, scraps from garment factories) and post-consumer textile waste (used garments), sorting it by colour, mechanically shredding it into regenerated fibre, blending it with recycled polyester from PET bottles, and spinning it into yarn. The process uses no water for dyeing — the colour of the waste becomes the colour of the yarn.
Yes. SVSM holds Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification, which verifies the recycled content of our yarn and our compliance with social, environmental, and chemical requirements throughout the manufacturing process. A Transaction Certificate is issued for every batch.
SVSM offers four primary blend compositions: RCP 60:40 (60% regenerated cotton, 40% recycled polyester), RP 100% recycled polyester, RPV 65:35 (65% recycled polyester, 35% dope-dyed viscose), and RVP 60:40 (60% dope-dyed viscose, 40% regenerated cotton). Custom blends are available on request.
SVSM recycled yarn is engineered to feel as soft and natural as 100% conventional cotton yarn. The blending of regenerated cotton with recycled polyester or viscose enhances softness, durability, and consistency. The yarn is suitable for garments with direct skin contact, including T-shirts and undergarments.
Yes. SVSM exports recycled yarn internationally. Our GRS, OEKO-TEX, GOTS, and OCS certifications meet the import compliance requirements of brands and manufacturers in Europe, North America, and Asia. Contact us for export pricing and lead times.
