Recycled Coloured yarn | GRS & GOTS Certified | Pan-India Supply

Colour-consistent recycled yarn, spun from certified recycled fibre, ready for knitting, weaving, and private-label production, without the water and chemical load of conventional dyeing.

Our Recycled Coloured Yarn Range

Pre-Dyed Recycled Yarn

Recycled fibre processed through controlled, lower-impact dyeing to hit an exact shade. Best when you need precise, repeatable colour across large orders.

Colour-Sorted Recycled Yarn (Zero Dye-Bath)

Waste sorted by colour before spinning — no dyeing involved. Lower water and chemical footprint, ideal for heather, melange, and multi-tone effects.

Recycled Cotton Yarn

Spun from post-industrial and post-consumer cotton waste. Available in coarse counts for denim, canvas, and home textiles, and fine counts for knitwear.

Recycled Poly-Cotton Blends

Blended for added strength, reduced pilling, and better dye/colour uptake where required.

Customized Yarn Products

Every order is built to a brief, not pulled from a fixed catalogue.

How Recycled Coloured Yarn Is Made

A quick look at what happens before yarn reaches your production line.

Waste Collection & Sorting

Post-industrial cutting waste and post-consumer garments are collected and manually or optically sorted — by fibre type first, then by colour where colour-sorted yarn is the goal.

Fibre Opening &
Cleaning

Sorted waste is opened, cleaned, and stripped of contaminants (buttons, zips, foreign fibre) before it re-enters the spinning process.

Blending

Recycled fibre is blended — with virgin fibre, recycled polyester, or another recycled stream — at a ratio set to hit the strength and hand-feel your product needs.

Spinning

Blended fibre is spun to the required count and twist, tailored to whether the yarn is headed for knitting, weaving, or crochet.

Dyeing (Where Required)

For pre-dyed recycled yarn, this is where controlled, lower-impact dyeing happens. Colour-sorted yarn skips this step entirely.

Quality Check & Packing

Every lot is checked for count accuracy, strength, colour consistency (shade banding), and evenness before it's coned, labelled, and packed for dispatch.

Recycled Coloured Yarn vs. Conventional Dyed Yarn

category
Recycled Coloured Yarn
Conventional Virgin Dyed Yarn
Raw material
Recycled cotton / polyester waste
Virgin fibre
Water use
Significantly lower (especially colour-sorted)
High — dyeing is water-intensive
Chemical/dye use
Minimal to none (colour-sorted) or reduced (pre-dyed)
Full dye-bath processing
Colour range
Wide, growing with sorting technology
Wide, but resource-heavy per shade
Certification available
GRS, GOTS (blended), OCS
GOTS (organic only), OEKO-TEX
Typical lead time
Comparable, often faster for sorted colours
Standard dye-cycle dependent
Sustainability documentation
Full chain-of-custody via GRS
Limited unless separately certified

Quality & Compliance

Every batch goes through in-house testing before dispatch, and documentation is issued alongside the shipment, not on request weeks later. Standard documentation includes:

  • GRS Transaction Certificate (recycled lines)

  • GOTS Transaction Certificate (organic-recycled lines)

  • Fibre composition and blend ratio report

  • Lab dip / shade approval record (for colour-matched orders)

  • Test certificate (count, strength, twist)

Why Source From India

India's scale in textile waste generation and spinning infrastructure means recycled coloured yarn here typically comes with:

  • Wider colour availability, due to volume of sorted waste

  • Competitive bulk pricing

  • Faster turnaround on large orders

  • Established GRS/GOTS/OCS certification infrastructure

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, with the right blend ratio and spinning process. We adjust fibre percentages to maintain strength and reduce pilling.

  • GRS certifies and traces recycled content through the supply chain. GOTS certifies organic fibre content plus environmental and social processing standards. Yarn can be GRS certified, GOTS certified, or both.

  • Yes, generally through waste sorting combined with light top-up dyeing where needed. Complex shades may require one sample round.

  • It varies by process, but colour-sorted recycled yarn — since it skips dyeing altogether, cuts out one of the most water- and chemical-intensive stages of yarn production. Pre-dyed recycled yarn still saves water versus virgin-fibre dyeing, since recycled fibre generally needs less dye to reach the same depth of shade.

  • Yes. We manufacture recycled cotton yarn, recycled polyester yarn, and blends of the two, depending on the strength, stretch, and hand-feel your product requires.

Sustainability Impact

Water

Dyeing is one of the most water-intensive stages in textile production. Colour-sorted recycled yarn removes it; pre-dyed recycled yarn reduces it.

4535200.jpg

Waste diversion

Every kilogram of recycled yarn is a kilogram of textile waste diverted from landfill or incineration.

Chemical load

Fewer or no dye-bath cycles mean less chemical effluent to treat and discharge.
