About Us
Founded in 1991 by Shri PS Velusamy and Shri C Kandasamy, Sri Velayudhaswamy Spinning Mills Private Limited (SVSM) began with 40,464 spindles as part of the SSM Group. After demerging and strategically merging with Prassanna Spinning Mills in 2019, SVSM Group has grown into a enormous textile industry with 100,000 spindles and 8,072 rotors, producing 93,000 kg of yarn daily.

Why Global Brands Choose SVSM for Recycled Yarn
Zero-Dyeing Process
SVSM's recycled yarn is produced without a single drop of water used for dyeing. By colour-sorting and mechanically blending textile waste at the source, we deliver rich, consistent pre-dyed yarn shades — drastically reducing water consumption and energy costs across the supply chain.
India's Only Ne 34s & 40s Recycled Yarn Manufacturer
SVSM is the only manufacturer in India producing recycled yarn in Ne 34s and Ne 40s counts — the finest recycled yarn counts available. This gives brands access to premium, lightweight recycled fabric constructions not available from any other Indian mill.
Full Traceability via Transaction Certificates
Every batch of SVSM recycled yarn is backed by Transaction Certificates (TC), verifying the origin and journey of each fibre from waste to finished yarn. Our partnership with Reverse Resources ensures end-to-end supply chain transparency.
No Hazardous Chemicals or Azo Dyes
Our process uses no hazardous chemicals or banned amines. A "Banned Amines" test is conducted for every production lot, making our yarn safe for use in baby garments, skin-contact textiles, and markets with strict chemical compliance requirements (REACH, CPSC).
GRS, GOTS, OEKO-TEX & More — Multi-Certified
SVSM holds 10 international certifications including GRS, GOTS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, OCS, RCS, BCI, SA8000, and Regenagri. Brands sourcing from SVSM can fast-track their own sustainability reporting with verified, certified raw material inputs.
Cost Advantage Without Compromising Quality
SVSM recycled yarn saves ₹100–150/kg ($1.76/kg) in fabric production costs compared to conventionally dyed yarn — a significant commercial advantage for price-sensitive fast fashion and mid-market brands.
The Environmental Impact of Choosing SVSM Recycled Yarn
Every kilogram of SVSM recycled yarn delivers measurable environmental savings compared to conventional virgin cotton yarn.
Impact Category | SVSM Recycled Yarn (per kg) | Conventional Yarn |
|---|---|---|
Global Warming Potential | 0.319 Kg CO₂ | Up to 6.74 Kg CO₂ |
Water Scarcity | 0.037 M³ | Up to 74.38 M³ |
Fossil Fuel Depletion | 3.25 MJ | Up to 122.6 MJ |
Eutrophication | 0.0001 Kg | Up to 0.011 Kg PO₄ |
Dyeing Water Used | 0 Litres | ~12 Litres per kg of fabric |
Impact data based on SVSM lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodology.
By sourcing recycled yarn from SVSM, a brand producing 10,000 kg of fabric annually avoids approximately 64 tonnes of CO₂ emissions and saves over 743,000 litres of water equivalent to the annual drinking water needs of 2,000 people.
